Come explore the extraordinary landscapes and sweeping night skies of Magical Iceland! Traveling with a small group of only five students total, I’ll be your personal guide to Iceland’s most iconic spots AS WELL AS hidden treasures well off the beaten path. You’ll visit and photograph stunning black sand beaches, too many waterfalls to count, gorgeous Icelandic horses, peaceful red-roofed churches, glaciers carving through mountains, majestic Kirkjufell, the Reynisdrangar Seastacks and kaleidoscopic sunrises and sunsets. You’ll explore Geysir, Gulfoss, Þingvellir, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Svartifoss and of course, the unique Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and its neighboring Diamond Beach, where enormous chunks of ancient glacial ice are swept out to sea and then washed up on the beach for you to inspect and even stand on!
Then once the sun dips below the horizon and the skies transform to night, we will seek and photograph the dancing, shimmering Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. While their appearance and weather conditions are of course up to nature, we will use the latest space weather and local meteorological forecasts to optimize your viewing likelihood. You will have the opportunity to not only create trophy photographs of their dazzling displays, you will learn how to create time-lapse video clips that truly capture their magic for your share with your family and friends. You will learn the best camera settings to create the high-resolution still images necessary to create HD quality time lapses that you will play over and over again.
BONUS: You will have access to all the material contained in my new book, “The Complete Guide to Landscape Astrophotography.” You will learn the art and science of where and how to create masterpieces of the night sky that will astonish your friends and family. Star trails, meteors, Iridium flares, the Milky Way, starry constellations, – you won’t want to sleep!
Pristine nature as clean as you’ll find anywhere in the world, inky night skies, and friendly, hospitable locals. Iceland is truly an experience you will cherish for the rest of your life.
