Amongst the majestic landscape of the Alabama Hills and the backdrop of Mt. Whitney, you are invited to participate in our five-day photography field workshop focusing on sunrise, sunset and stars. Learn how to create spectacular landscape astrophotographs and time-lapse videos featuring natural light. Instruction will include techniques on creating eye-popping sunrise and sunset images, star trails, the Milky Way and light painting. The workshop is timed immediately before a new Moon for maximum darkness. Take away a better understanding of your current equipment, enhance your technical skill and proficiency in the art of photography, develop a greater understanding of astronomy and be blown away by the beauty of the night sky in the Eastern Sierras!
Bonus – you will have a sneak preview of ALL the material from my forthcoming new book, “The Complete Guide to Landscape Astrophotography – Understanding, Planning, Creating and Processing Nightscape Images,” Focal Press / Routledge (2016/2017).
Instruction will include composition, camera settings and what they do, exposure and lens selection. You will learn how to edit your shots for maximum impact in Lightroom, Photoshop, StarStaX and LRTimelapse. Our destinations will include both outdoor and indoor subjects and we will have opportunities to explore wide-angle, macro, telephoto and street zoom lenses.
